In January 2015 Axel Esser of the HGS Neuro Team gave a lecture entitled "Risk Properly Evaluated?" to the participants of a Bavarian insurance forum. The lecture covered the possibilities for using neuroscientific knowledge in the areas of leadership, decision making and stress management. In the pleasant setting of the Tucher Castle in Nuremberg the theory and practice of making better use of one's brain was brought closer to the professionals. Based on neuroscientific research Axel Esser revealed mechanisms that are relevant to decisions, especially decisions made under risk and uncertainty. Mr. Esser also explained the interaction between emotion and cognition, and what conditions must be met in order to achieve maximum cognitive capability.
