Methods and Formats for a Successful Learning
Nobody escapes this format: An escape room is a hands-on adventure in which the players are »locked« in a room. Items in this room are used to solve puzzles and escape the room within a set time frame.
The training benefit comes from the participants' eye-opening experiences. Even as adults, we are rewarded with elation when we discover or learn something new.
If this thrill is missing from your learning environment, think about an escape room!
»Open de kofferbak, alstublieft« was the catchphrase in 1978 when training police officers in Amsterdam. For the first time, seminar actors were used to play the part of John Doe, because the police students found it difficult to do that themselves in role-playing games.
Since then, the use of seminar actors has proven itself in many training programs worldwide. Well trained, they can slip into any role and help make the experience more authentic. Participants can try out the newly-learned behavior as many times as necessary, and without risk.
Training with seminar actors is one thing above all: different.
Live Online Training
If not now, then when? The year 2020 has given an unexpected boost to the necessity for remote learning. #Stayhome, learn online. No question about it: virtual live lessons in real time are ideal for a scattered workforce. However, if you simply transfer the many existing training materials to the web, there is a good chance that you will ultimately get an eBook – but without offering your students an improved learning experience. Which is why we say:
- Reinvent – don’t just convert
- Restructure – don't just apply wholesale
- Reduce – don't just repeat
If, given the current development of eLearning, it is important for you to transfer some of the existing content into the online arena, you should take the plunge now! We are happy to commit ourselves to your learning goals.
»Hey teacher, leave them kids alone« – on the contrary! Classroom training is far from out of date. The feedback from participants in online-only formats is clear: »We'd rather get out of the office, the workshop, the company«. »We want to reach out to other participants, to the trainer«.
This shows that if routine tasks no longer exist due to digitization, then self-awareness, social awareness and relationship building become more important.
Real togetherness instead of cramming in the cloud – if you value Emotional Intelligence (EQ) as well, you are up to date. Talk to us, it will pay off for you!
For example: Suddenly boss! It’s not always that easy. Former colleagues now need to be lead, there is growing responsibility, new times are dawning. A neutral conversation partner is welcome now. A view from the outside helps you to think outside the box. Like the harbour pilot who comes on board for a short time, the coach can show the way through the unknown waters of a personal or operational change. Coaching is not just a technique, but a way of thinking, a way of dealing with each other.
If it is more than just a buzzword for you, if you are interested in the solution and resource-oriented approach, we would be happy to help you develop a supportive mindset and find clarity in cloudy waters. Alone or in a team.
Video Role Play / Video Feedback
Record your own videos with your smartphone? Everyone’s doing it! Film yourself? The younger the better: Digital natives have grown up pointing the camera at themselves; boomers are more reluctant. »I don't look like that, do I?«; »Do I really sound like that?« It may be unusual to share videos with your trainer like a game of ping-pong, and to let them look over your shoulder in challenging situations.
Feedback generally plays an important role in the teaching of skills. What makes the feedback via video unique is that it enables learners to look at themselves »from a distance« and thereby get an idea of their own abilities. Repeatedly recording and playing the video is good practice and allows for a detailed analysis of the behavior.
If you want to reframe learning and go beyond the mere exchange of videos, we would be happy to contribute to the optimal design of the video feedback for your specialists.
»O Captain! My Captain! Our fearful trip is done …« Learning poetry is not the only thing that can be done differently today – Artificial Intelligence comes to the rescue. Many paths lead to the learning goal, not just the given one. Sometimes fast, sometimes slow, sometimes focusing on this, sometimes on that. An algorithm is even more patient than your favorite English teacher, Robin Williams.
Even better: learning content can be integrated into the work and adapted to individual development needs. From beginners to professionals, everyone learns only what they don't yet know. No more, no less.
If you want to promote self-directed learning in your company, we have a solution: adaptive, personalized, context-oriented.
